1989 Mazda rx7 convertible. 183,000 miles. This is a good running car. I drive this car 2-3 days a week. It’s mostly all stock, except for a full Racing Beat exhaust system (header back), lowering springs, and Konig 17 staggered wheels (17×7 front, 17×8 rear).
I have also replaced the original stereo with a Kenwood CD double din and the original speakers with kicker speakers in the original locations.
Everything works on this car. Pop up headlights, the top, the windows, the rear defrost, heater, and the air conditioning.
I have replaced the engine with a lower mile unit from a donor car. Estimated miles are about 120,000 on the replacement engine. The 5 speed manual transmission has been replaced with a used unit. When I replaced the engine I installed braided stainless oil cooler hoses and replaced the belts and hoses with parts from the Mazda dealership.
All the brakes have been replaced on the car including like new pads and all the calipers and master cylinder. There is a newer clutch as well. The car does leak oil.
This car is mostly rust free. There are a few very small spots under the car, but otherwise is is very solid. There is a crack in the windshield on the passenger side, the drivers seat leather cover is ripped, but the seats are solid still. The top is original and has some tears in it as you can see in the pictures.
Overall this car is very solid and a great driving rx7. It is almost 30 years old and far from perfect. But I feel like it is still a nice car for its age. I get compliments often.
