This is a 1985 Toyota Celica GTS convertible. Triple black, interior, exterior and top. It’s a 5 speed manual with leather interior $2,700 we had redone. It’s got a new top $2,000, we put on and had all the lines and motor that run the top replaced along with some weatherstripping & new door moldings $2,100. We’ve had all the carpets pulled up and replaced along with installing dynamat sound deadening while they were out $1,875. We put a new Bluetooth radio with hands free in $700. We’ve had a new starter $244 and radiator and battery installed $640. The tires have been replaced and AC charged $900. The entire exhaust front to back Was done $1500. We bought it from a Florida owner who bought it from the original owner’s family in Chicago. We keep it inside and it drives nicely down the shore and we’ve gone as far as Maine and North Carolina from NJ. It’s still a 37 year old car with some rust spots and has many imperfections. We’ve put over $24,000 into making it something solid which we enjoy, as a passion project there is no expectation of recouping the financial costs. It’s the 4th celica GTS or Supra we’ve had in our life time. We love it and now we have nowhere to keep it.

This convertible along with 4,500 were specially completed by American Sunroof Corporation (ASC) for Toyota, and they only offered it in the final two years of this generation ‘84-85. It was an expensive option. We’ve seen some white and red ones around usually in automatic, but rarely a triple black 5 speed.

Toyota gave these Celica GTS‘s a unique-looking bucket seat interior, and when we redid them in leather Vs cloth we maintened the look and feel of the rest of the GTS‘s & Supra’s of the third generation.

They came loaded at the time with Cruise control, power locks, a tilt steering column, power steering, and upgraded AM/FM stereo, we did not have the original radio and installed a Bluetooth hands free radio. The factory air conditioning is still there and we serviced twice to blow cold. Things work as they should, headlights, courtesy lights, power windows, power convertible top. One thing we did not fix was the power door locks, you have to lock with a manual switch inside or hold the handle outside when closing the locked door. Four-wheel power disc brakes, fully-independent suspension, five-speed manual transmission.

The engine bay is in good shape and has the standard 22-RE. Toyota 2.4-liter motor is nearly bulletproof and never been opened or tampered with.
