1982 Toyota Pickup

For consignment, a small radical rig truck with some serious 427ci small block power, a 950 Demon carb, a JEGS Turbo 400 3 speed, S&W frame for the truck bed and some ladder bars, and a custom paint job to boot.  Read on my truck fans.

NOTE: Due to varying emissions control devices being removed, please check with your state, county, local or provincial motor vehicle department to verify the ability to legally register this vehicle in your area.

Note: This vehicle is sold with a Pennsylvania reconstructed branding on the title.

Exterior

Looking at the truck from the front it appears at first as somewhat unassuming with its seafoam green paint and stock front grille.  A hint of menacing is noted peeking out from the hood and as we move back to the cab the truck is still pretty much stock in appearance.  This is where it all ends though as just aft of the doors is the beginnings of where a new S&W frame was put on to support the bed.  The bed has been fabricated and this abuts large tubbed rear fenders flanking the bed on either side.  Within these tubs are rear 15-inch Weld DragLite polished wheels and these are wrapped by massive 31×18.5R15 LTS Hoosier rubber.  All the steel is straight as an arrow as well as being rust free and we see a custom plywood covered in leather for the bed topper in a taupe color which is a nice contrast to the seafoam.  Underneath this leather covering we note a carpeted bed mostly taken up by the wheel well tubs.  The rear tailgate has a custom airbrushed beach scene from Ocean City, Maryland and the back bumper has been shaved with just a straight roll pan with inserted tail lighting.  Underneath, some wheelie bars are protruding out the back.  A 3 inch stainless exhaust system is on and pipes are showing just before the wheel wells and are capable of making some serious noise.

Interior

A swing of the doors and we see some snazzy two tone taupe canvas textured broadcloth covering the panels.  Power window toggles are now making the movement of the side glass.  Inside is a full roll bar snaking its way vertically to the roof around the dash front up around the roof and landing behind the 2 front buckets.  These buckets are nice wide low back styled also the canvas textured taupe broadcloth and these sit on turquoise tubs that float on slightly soiled tan carpeting.  A center console with some taupe stitched leather and stainless steel inserts houses a Hurst shifter.  This stainless paneling continues as it rises vertically where the radio is in and just above the dash has now been customized with the textured tan canvas padded broadcloth.  Just below is another stainless panel with a trio of gauges.  Below this in the center is a charging port and dual USB outlets. In front of the driver is a LeCarra billet style rally steering wheel which fronts a stainless panels dash with the speedo, fuel gauge and tachometer.  To the driver’s left is a digital readout box with a few toggles.  The broadcloth is also above the seats in the headliner and is also padded.

Drivetrain

Upon opening the hood we see a massive 427ci small block Chevy stroker mill that the consignor states produces 570hp, however there is not documentation to back this up.  It has aftermarket aluminum heads and on top is fed by a 950cfm Demon Carburetor.   A new from Jegs TH400 3-speed automatic transmission with a 3000rpm stall converter is on back with a Ford 9 inch 4.56 geared rear axle between those wide rear Hoosiers.  Headers and a glasspack exhaust is on for the big exhale, and we note the lack of catalytic converters.  Our consignor states the truck has been raced a few times to the tune of 10.05’s in the 1/4 mile.

Undercarriage

Very nice seafoam green is painted on most surfaces on the floors of the truck .  All is very clean under here.  For the suspension, it’s weighing in with front independent coil overs and for the rear, ladder bars with coil overs.  Power disc braking is in front and power drums for the back.

Drive-Ability

This mini truck comes to life with a maxi deafening roar and it goes like the wind, and is actually very easy to drive.  It has a heater and all functions were working at the time of the test drive.

This loud proud custom creation is in the category of pro street.  It is a head turner and has won numerous awards at numerous shows.  It’s a mover and a shaker and a looker and a cooker all wrapped upon seafoam green and ready to roll.
