1979 Datsun 620 pickup Lil’ Hustler
Lots of recent mechanical work.
Came out of Tennessee, I do not know how the patina came to be. Long list of repairs below. Starts, idles, runs, drives and steers well. Tracts straight and keeps up at 65 mph – see video.

Seat belt chime works. Seat belt light works. Hi-beam and parking brake light work. Dome light works. Gauges and knobs illuminate. Wipers and sprayer work. Radio works but need to connect new OEM style pillar antennae provided.
The original floor mat included in the sale is a three piece vinyl set pictured in bed of truck. The previous owner may have cut the vinyl flooring so it did not interfere with the pedals. I removed the three piece vinyl floor and the center console so we can ride three upfront. I am 6′ 1” and I have kids that ride the bench. I paid $440.00 on eBay for a used one piece original Datsun vinyl floor that is loose laid over floorpans. I have the original screws/hardware to install the flooring we generally keep it out – less damage from cleats and moisture. I also added an airplane buckle center seat belt. The floorpans have new rubber hole plugs from ZCarDepot.
Not too many quirks with this older truck – doors shut tight, windows roll up/down easily, mirrors aren’t wobbly, shoulder seat belts retract, dome light works, the hood pops open without any finesse or tricks. Horn works. It does leave a spot of oil. And I broke down near the beach with fuel issue – left it at a local shop who removed the faulty mechanical fuel pump, installed an electric fuel pump and filter, dropped the tank, reinforced the fuel tank support, showed me photos of a clean tank inside never lined, they did weld or patch the tank, installed a new fuel sending unit. After that job if you overfill the tank it will leak somewhere from the top maybe fuel sending unit O-ring or where the fuel fill hose I do not know. I just joined a Datsun forum and I learned that a $171.49 SPECTRA720 13 gallon gas tank has the same bolt pattern that should correct this.
For the most part, I consider this Datsun solid. Frame rails have no crust. See photos of floorboards solid. There is some through rust at areas shown in photos.
Clean NY title. I can store this for months after purchase. Sold as-is. It’s old so expect some TLC over time.
