1967 Toyota 2000GT, Toyota’s first supercar!  Built with a 2.0 liter in-line 6 cylinder fed by Triple Solex Side Draft Carburetors with twin overhead cams and tuned and developed by Yamaha. Accompanied by a 5 speed manual transmission which was unheard of in 1967!  These cars were very expensive for their era at $6,800 in 1967 compared to a Porsche 911 at $6,050, Jaguar E-Type at $5,585 or a new Corvette at $4,721!  Only 351 (only 62 left hand drive) 2000GT’s were produced worldwide!  The 2000GT shattered many world speed records and was able to achieve a top speed of 135 mph!  The 2000GT made a name for itself as a world class car.  Another boost to its prestige was its appearance in the James Bond 007 movie, “You Only Live Twice”  Chassis number MF10-10193 was imported to Switzerland in January 1969 and was delivered to its 1st owner in mid 1971.  This example had a frame off restoration in 1993 by Mr Andy Gioppe and since 1995 the car has resided in the Emil Frey AG Collection.  After 25 years, the engine was in need of an overhaul which was commissioned to Roos Engineering LTD to prepare it to a very high standard.  At this time, a complete engine overhaul was performed as well as, Brake system overhaul, suspension including shocks, new differential seals, new tires, re-trimming original seats, restoration of all wood veneer, replacement of all rubber seals and various cosmetic touch-ups to the highest standard!  This car has been in the Emil Frey Collection (around 90 cars) for more than 30 years.  It is an original Swiss car that has resided in Switzerland since new and even better, in a radius of 30 miles around the city of Safenwil with all of its owners.  Original left hand drive car, matching numbers and fully restored engine in original color combination, Solar Red with a black interior.
